Hey all!
I feel bad for Kim...she is visiting AZ this weekend and we had a cloudy, rainy day yesterday. Looks like today will be cool, but nice!

Anyone racing today? I've been seeing lots of race pics from people racing in the rain. I'm in awe...we usually have pretty dry conditions for our races here in AZ so I'm spoiled. Here's to everyone out there battling the not-so-ideal conditions!!

Today for me - REST day! I've been feeling so tired lately so it's a good thing today I have nothing planned. Son is still complaining that he doesn't feel well, so just keeping him at home. Husband went out for a long bike ride so he will be gone a few hours. At least one of us is getting out!

Enjoying every last bit of this cooler (70's) weather...by the end of the week in Scottsdale it is predicted to be high 90's - yuck! Here comes summer!

Good luck to all racers and happy training!

Enjoy the cool weather. Its starting to heat up a bit down here in Texas, and I'm not used to it! I spent the winter trying to acclimate to Canada, and now here I am trying to acclimate to the summer in Texas. My 4 mile run today was in the hot sun and I can tell I'm really not used to it. My heart rate shot up like a rocket and even trying to go downhill, my HR monitor was saying "BEEP BEEP! Hold your horses there cowboy!" It's frustrating because I had to walk a lot of it just to keep my heart rate in check.

Just got back from a great 13.2 mile run, 60 degrees, mostly sunny and a slight breeze and I felt like it was a little too warm out. I need more miles in the "heat".

Have a great night!

Knocked out my first 20 mile run today. It was a little too cold and windy for my taste. It did help me keep my HR around 140 for the run, but I could of gone for 60 degree weather. I'm really happy with how efficient I ran though. Definitely a confidence boost. 4 weeks until my first Marathon!

Funny--the only time I've been to Arizona (Flagstaff a couple years ago in July) it was also cool and rainy. The locals were calling it a "monsoon"! Could use some rain/cool here. Last really long brick before my race in two weeks: 3:32 ride, 50 minute run in triple-digit heat, while wondering if human spontaneous combustion is possible. Later on, easy 1200m of swimming and 35 minutes of strength stuff at the gym. Treated myself to BBQ chicken (place run by a couple from Virginia; they do the sandwiches right with coleslaw and pickles), fries, and cold beer for dinner!

Off this week so I can lead my favored "professional athlete" lifestyle--train in the morning, eat and loaf (and, sadly, do coursework, but I guess even the pros must do sponsorship-related blogging and such) the rest of the day! Alas, no one's sponsoring me to do it. Saucony, Cliff, Nuun, Ritter Sport Chocolate, Starbucks??? ??

Feeling confident and cocky, after finally losing some weight, I got off my back side and into triathlon.
