Yawn...good morning BT!

Was planning to get up and at least walk this morning but that didn't happen!  Slept in but that's OK,  My body is still a bit tired and sore from St. George. Speaking of which, the race report is up.  Definitely not my best race--just wasn't my day.  Bad swim, even worse bike, and bad run.  I'm not sure what happened--I guess the heat and the hills got me this year.

8 weeks until IM CDA, have to say this weekend's poor performance has me a bit worried.

Sorry to hear that St. George didn't go as well as you had hoped. Still, anyone who finishes a HIM has my complete respect. And sometimes it takes more "guts" to finish a race like that when things aren't going the way you want. Be proud of the mental toughness you showed by hanging in there when the going got tough. I'll bet your next race will go MUCH better...

We're just finishing a move from FL back to WI so the last week+ has been pretty hectic. Saying a lot of goodbyes, packing, hauling off stuff, cleaning out and the 1500 mile drive north. I did get in a couple good runs and one bike ride at the end of last week and a nice hike yesterday. Today plan on getting back to the pool, some strength training, and maybe 20miles on the bike.

4.75 miles this morning with the dog on an intracoastal road.  Perfect morning after being so hot the last couple of weeks we are finally back to normal and feels like fall when the 1st cool fronts pass by.  1200yard swim this evening on tap after I mow the jungle yard.

Also took today off. Just not feeling that great. Hoping I'm not getting sick but seems more like allergies as it has come on gradually over the past week or so. They always get bad toward the end of dry season and didn't get much sleep between wheezing, coughing, and stuffed nose last night, so didn't want to risk wearing myself out in case it was a cold. Ugh. PLEEEEEEASE don't let me get sick before the race!

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
