Subject: Hi there! Total newbie here.
Hello! My name is Julie. I'm 28 years old and I am in the U.S. northeast. I was a competitive swimmer growing up, and really got into running within the past year. I decided that I'd like to try and transition to triathlons, but I have little to no knowledge of how to get started. Looking forward to learning the ropes.

Phew! Glad to know I'm not alone. I come from another country (Sweden) and we ski. Like, all of us! :D (I could be exaggerating, but skiing is a huge deal where I come from). I'm a total newbie, and working to transition to triathlons, just like you. Good luck to the both of us, Julie!

Welcome to the addiction. Three pieces of advice.

First just read the posts. When I first started I didn't even know what to ask. You will learn so much very quickly by reading what others are asking.

Second, ask questions. You would be very hard pressed to find a more supportive group of people. Ask anything you want. There is nothing you need to know that a ton of people on this site haven't already been through and they are happy to share.
