When I was training for my first marathon, my niece was 5. They live a few towns over to me so I ran to their house for one of my long runs. My sister was explaining to her that I had just run 20 miles. My niece said to me, "Why didn't you take the car?"

Now THAT sounds like a cool race! Hm...

They have one in Colorado, the My Way or the Tri Way

When my girls were young (now 22, twins) and heading into their first track meet/event in grade school, my wife and I talked to them about giving their best, that it's possible to win if you give it your all etc.  Standard parental motivational speech in other words..

Anyway, not long after that I was preparing for a tri and one of them asked me what I thought my chances were of winning, to which I responded no chance... They both immediately told me that I needed to stay positive and give my all because I could win if I had confidence in myself...

My words tasted just fine...

My 11 year old sister calls my cycling shorts "butt shorts" because of the padding.

Do you see the bladder as half-full or half-empty? In this instance, it really doesn't matter how you look at it... you'd just better go.
