I used to swim there as a kid, and remember it being fairly dirty...but, that was 35 years ago. I'll be there in August doing the tri, so I'll see if it's gotten any cleaner. I guess I can swim 1/4 mile in just about anything......
I'm interested in finding a good open water swim location in the area. I recently started preparing for my first Sprint Triathlon this September as a goal to help drive my overall fitness goals. I live in Shrewsbury and work in Framingham, so Lake Chauncy and Hopkinton state park are options that I've heard mentioned, but I've also heard mentioned being hassled by life guards? Could someone help guide me?

I am running Boston in April and Ironman Lake Placid is in July. I have been told that it is ambitious to think about doing an IM so close to a marathon due to the recovery time. Any suggestions?

Both the Lake Triathlon Shoe CX210TRI and the Lake Road Shoe CX225 offer distinct advantages. I tested both shoes and found them to be extremely comfortable, good looking and durable.
