Good morning BT! Thanks for tracking me yesterday! What a day!!! Carnage everywhere! The bike course got as hot as 109 with negligible shade cover. Surface temps were 147. Slow and steady was the name of the game--10 mins to spare! Best of all I gave Mike Reilly a big hug at the finish, ha! Full race report to come in the next few days. I can honestly say it was perfect and horrible and one of the best/worst days of my life! Oh--and I'll never do another! No other Ironman can compare to what I accomplished yesterday! The only thing getting a workout today is my credit card--finisher gear! $$$

wow Kim - so happy and excited for you!!! What an effort and to push through those kind of conditions! That is one for the books - you need a "I survived IM CDA" among your loot - you DESERVE IT!!!

Let the dust settle and LMK when you want to sign up for IMAZ :-)! lol! I guarantee it isn't that hot here in AZ in November !

Enjoying our last morning in Flagstaff - sitting with the windows open and soaking in the cool breeze.

My plan doesn't call for anything today (can we say RECOVERY WEEK!) but I'm going out for one last short walk/run/hike on a local trail by us. I just can't help it!

Headed back to the Valley and heat but it's been a vacation full of fun and great training! If you ever get a chance - go to Flagstaff and spend some time - it's a great city!

Have a great day all!

Can't believe you're already up and posting! (I would still be lying one step over the finish.) I was worried that it was going to be close but it looked like you kept a steady pace and made it in time. Kept thinking, "I hope she can do the math!" Know I wouldn't be able to in that state--I was using a calculator. Enjoy the atmosphere and stock up on the finisher gear--you've earned it. Guess I will stop complaining about heat in races after your accomplishment.....

We're actually headed your direction today, but to Boise, not CDA. Due to travel, probably an off day for me today too, but not as good an excuse!

Congrats!

That was absolutely some crazy heat. You are quite an inspiration to those of us who want to get to that distance someday, but who have little ones running around which limits time.

30mins on the trainer turns my brain to mush... how do you do it?!?!

I was totally trying to calclate numbers but my brain was mush! When I saw my family before heading back out for the second loop all I could do was yell "Am I going to make it? Someone just tell me do I have enough time?!" It wasn't until mile 20 or so that I let myself believe there was enough time. What a head game!

Wow! Great job! I couldn't imagine doing anything for that long. Now you can get a 140.6 sticker to put on your car.
Nothing planned for today but I hope to get something in. I'm still sorta recovering from surgery.

Great Job Kim

Sounds Brutal, enjoy the down time and be sure to leave a little headroom on that credit card for the next Ironman .

Pool workout for me today drills and more drills, finished with a bit of Core work.

Congratulations Ironman! I couldn't agree more-- you couldn't have picked a more epic IM if you're going to be one-and-done! For the rest of your life you're going to be able to say "That's right, I did IMCDA 2015". That's truly an accomplishment.

Looking forward to the race report.

Congrats! That was a heard-earned finish and a heck of a day to make an Ironman debut. Congrats on finishing and not ending up in the hospital. Conditions were brutal.
