Subject: racing with a cold...
I have a race weekend coming up on the 11th and 12th, three races in two days. Over the last day or so I have developed on hell of a head cold: sinus congestion, itchy eyes, sore throat and a nice cough. I have been extensively training for this since december and won't be taken out by a cold. Does anyone have recomendations for medicines that are okay to take before the races, that is if this cold is still lurking around?

No specific recommendations. However a couple of things to consider.

1) If you have a fever, racing is a terrible idea. However if it's just a "common cold" that has you stuffed up and congested with no fever, I see no reason to hold back.

2) Pseudoephedrine is a prohibited substance when used in-competition. Don't take any in the day or two ahead of the race and certainly not on race morning. Regardless I personally don't think I *could* race if I had taken any as it makes me incredibly wired and jacks my heart rate.
