I'm recent to the area as well. From my research, there are 2 main groups: Triclub of Orange County http://octriclub.com and Newport Coast Triathlon Team http://www.nctt.us/.
I'm nursing another episode of tendonitis, so I haven't tried either yet. Was going to give Newport a go once I get better.
I live in Irvine too. I usually catch up with the OC chapter of California Triathlon .org. It's a free club and there is a lot of support if you ask for it.
After a hard workout, I really like having a Coke or Pepsi. How bad is this for recovery and for my health? Should I stop drinking orange juice because it is loaded with (fattening) carbs and sugar?
For most age-group triathletes, getting the most out of there time for quality workouts can be daunting. Think outside the triangle to get a little more.
The toll of fate strikes as those with orange swim caps are beckoned to begin the journey. Ahhh, nothing like the feel of ice cold water seeping in your wetsuit to wake you up. GO!
Tri clubs offer all of us, from beginner to advanced athlete, a venue in which we can realign our perspective of what “fast” and “far” are, pushing us to new and greater heights of performance.
