Subject: Impact of same day workouts on speed This may sound silly, but today I went on a 6 mile run and then, several hours later, I timed myself on my typical 15 mile bike ride. I found that, although I felt like I really hammered the ride, and felt that I should have surpassed my usual time by at least a minute, I actually was one minute slower on the bike than usual.
I know that a difference of literally a minute or two is no big deal, but can I attribute it to the additional workout I did earlier? I never time myself for the second leg of multiple workouts in a single day but just decided to this time for shts and giggles. |
