Subject: New Bike which One???
Looking at getting my new bike tomorrow, need something that I can get the winter miles in but also looking at participating in a few triathlons so look at something that is a bit racy as well.

The three I like and would like people's views on are

FUJI Transonic 2.7

Cannondale Synapse 105 6 2015

Cannondale Super Six Evo 105 2015

I love my Fuji norcom straight, but I don't like the transonics cable management up front. Just looks messy to me.

I just bought a Transonic 2.3. Considered the Synapse.

I chose the Transonic because:
1. All Ultegra set up
2. Very aero design that isn't all that important at my level, but looks cool
3. Felt good on test ride
4. It was on sale, so I got a very good price.

However, I am having some second thoughts:
1. Transonic small crank is a 36 and the Synapse is a 34, which I wish I had on some hills (especially with my general lack of power).
2. The Transonic seems to be too long from seat to handlebars. I got a shorter stem which helps a lot. I haven't had a proper fitting done yet, and I expect that will help.

Bottom line, test ride and discuss with a LBS pro who can give you good advice on fitting.

Enjoy,
Jim

I am in the market for a new road bike, at several local bike stores I will test ride several bikes. Other than basic fit and components, how should I compare them while doing a test ride?

It’s just so discouraging to know that within a few more weeks those New Years’ Resolutionists are going to quietly disappear.
