Subject: Second Tri was a 70.3
I jumped into the sport full force, and signed up for a 70.3 (Diamondman in DE) back in March having never done a tri. I was able to squeeze in an olympic distance about a month ago before the big one this past Saturday. I ended up finishing 71/212 in the 70.3 with a time of 5:42:00. Finished 12/24 in the 40-44 age group. Splits were 36:12, 2:51:43, and 2:08:14 with a T1 of 3:22 and T2 2:29. I need to work on transitions. I felt pretty good about finishing with these times, especially since I'm not a strong swimmer or runner.

I've been lurking here for a bit, and reading/learning what I can. I wanted to say thanks for your covert support. I think another 70.3 is in my future, as well as many shorter races!

Some mistakes I made during the Hawaii Ironman 70.3. Don't be caught out on the course not knowing how or not having the equipment to change a flat tire.

It was the morning of Ironman Newfoundland 70.3, I felt queasy. I didn't want to eat or drink anything. I had a full blown case of the pre-race HEEBEE GEEBEES.
