Up at 4:50AM, No breakfast, One RCS and one Mito before leaving house @ 5:35 for 7:30 AM race start. Nice course, familiar roads from my biking days in the area at Mentor Headlands. Just one day of loading with Race Day Boost (3 servings). Drank one 10oz bottle with one scoop of SE during race One gel 5 min before race. One gel at mile 7 and one gel at mile 11.. One potty stop during race at mile 7. A few hills on the course otherwise flat...Ran on one gravel path for about a mile or so. I was put in the 60 and over age group! Did ok at 4 of 12 in that group. Began looking for the finish line at mile 9... tough running for me from there to the finish line. Still had enough left for a short sprint at the finish line.....

2 large flat screen tv's set up to check race results immediately after finishing run. Great... Just enter your bib#. Best ever on-site race results.

I signed up for Ironman Frankfurt, next year July - and I am very excited about it. I originally planned to run my first Marathon in the middle of September, but am not sure if this is wise.

I just started doing tris this summer and I have two under my belt, both sprints. Is it reasonable to build up for a Oly in early ‘09, with a HIM in Oct of ‘09

I will assume you have not run consistently more than 6 miles and have never completed a half-marathon. I believe running your first half-marathon is a big task which requires dedication and work.

My training was taking off. I had never felt stronger. I was making bigger strides than I ever had. I was stronger and faster than I had imagined myself ever being.
