The rocks and roots is a great series, I did it a few years back when it turned into a pure mud fest!   Probably the hardest 12 miles I had ever run and was happy i didn't sign up for more.  I think that was the last straw though as they had to move the course after that because,of the "damage" to the mtb course.

If I was closer I would take you up on the offer....

Sounds fun. What kind of pace are you thinking? I'm running at about 8:50 right now.

You are running 8:50 on the trails? That is awesome, road run for me easy all day 9:30, Hills and trails pending terrain 10:30 to whatever the trail says. Everyone can run on their own pace, courses are marked well. Out this weekend, do a trail run on the 13th, Darby or Alum if interested. I hear you know Dan Johnson and Jimmy Hunter, trained a bit with those nuts.

Dang, I forgot to check this thread again. No I only run 8:50 on roads. On trails, I'm sure much slower. I'm not all that surefooted since I had a bad ankle sprain a few years back.

Yes, I trained with Jimmy and Dan way back in 2010!
