I was looking to get a pair of the Vector 2s pedals and just noticed there is a suggested 200lb weight limit by Garmin. Is anyone else out there that is over the weight limit using the pedals and if so what has your experience been?
I have the first version Vectors on my bike. I've hovered around 215-220 all summer with no problems. I don't recall seeing a weight limit on the first gen Vectors, is it just the the V2 that have it?
According to the garmin website it appears to apply to both. I think it only becomes an issue in limited situations like if you were doing a bunny hop or something similar that puts an abnormal amount of force on the pedals. I was just curious as to what other users have experienced and since you have had no issues that kind of confirms garmins limit may be just an extra amount of caution.
I have zero complaints so far. I've had them for almost a year and I put in some pretty high mileage this summer. I've honked down on some hills that had me putting out 7-800 watts while standing on the pedals. So I know for sure they will stand up to some pretty serious weight and torque stresses. I say go for it. Pair it with an Edge 1000 and get more parameters and gee whiz data than you'll know what to do with!
