I'm in and looking for a big month.  I'm setting a personal goal of 150 miles.  In addition to the miles, I'm also going to have a goal of at least one higher intensity session each week that will either be speedwork on the track or a hard tempo run.  Hopefully the weather wouldn't get too nasty.

Ho ho ho my running friends. Yesss a new month. I'm supposed to hit 190, but I'll be happy if I hit 175 considering the holidays and traveling. I'm going down to the Florida keys in the middle of the month which will result in some really pretty runs, and then up to NY for Christmas. I'll have a fun bunch of photos of all the different environments I'll be training in this month. Good luck to everyone!

Starting off with a bang- 10 miles in the bag this afternoon.

I missed last month by 15 miles. I'm in this month tho because I need just over 100 miles to get me to my yearly goal. Plus I need to realize that "recovery" is over and get ready for an ez marathon in Feb.

Steve, I appreciate the advice you gave me last month about another BQ attempt in early March. But after talking to hubby, I decided to not go for that BQ attempt in March but do some fun things during that time and make another BQ attempt later next year. So I'm planning to do a slow mary (new course here in town) in Feb and then play around with some half marathons and 10Ks. Give myself a little break from the early morning runs.

Jamie, I LOVE Key West!!!!! Where are you staying? Let me know if you need any suggestions of places to go see while there. And while I know that you don't drink, have a drink for me while there, ok? Dang, that is making me realize I need to go look up when they have their races there. I love Key West.

I'll make it a mai tai. Yes please send me everything that's good to do in the keys. I'll be spending most of it in Islamorada. Send me a private message if you want so we don't clog up the run forum.

I'm in. I'm having my Lactate Threshold tested tomorrow and my body comp. Will see how that goes. Probably won't like what they tell me but I should be able to tailor my run training better after I know what my true zones are.

I'm in again. I hit 10.5 today, so that's right on pace for 105.

Try to "test run" any costumes if you can. My Power Ranger costume turns me into "Hooker Pam" when I run because it rides up. And the Pebbles costume in my profile pic limited my range of movement until I modified it; then it dragged the ground. But then again, I would have sworn that the guy who had on the bunny ears and tail would pull something off during the race but he remained intact and won the 50 mile race. Have fun!!!

That sounds like great advice. Not sure yet how crazy the group of us is going to get nut that's what usually happens when you set loose a group of twenty-something year olds together I guess

The Disney race should be a lot of fun.  It has been on my list for quite a while.

I'm at 18 miles so far this month.  I had to take a day off yesterday.  I hoping the weather here is somewhat decent this weekend so I can get a good long run in.

I'm going to have to look into this Disney race. I love the costume ones. In college my friends and I put our studies aside and spent a full day preparing American Gladiator outfits, complete with the big jousting sticks. Basically we were running around in our underwear at the end of October in upstate NY...

37 for the month so far.

Ran a 1 miler with my 4 year old this morning followed by a 5k which ended up being more of a 3.5 miler (Not sure how they got that far off on the distance). 40 F cold this morning (That's cold for Texas) but sunny. That brings my total to 15 miles so far.

Nice pics John and Jamie.

Finally managed to get a little mojo going. 25.5 miles currently for this month. May go run with a group tonight to go look at the Christmas lights.

Yesterday was a no go which puts me a little behind.  We had a very powerful wind storm with rain.  It would have been dangerous to be outside.  We have another blast coming in this evening so I may sneak out during lunch and try to get a run in before it arrives.

I'm at 36.5 as of today. 100 miles in a month has been rare for me lately, so it feels good being right on pace to make it.

Currently at 52 miles for the month. Yesterday we had our ultra and I knew I would be pacing a friend for 2 of her 10K loops. Ended up walking with some other friends at different times so ended up with over 18 miles because I was running my mouth so much.

Wow! You guys are doing GREAT! I wanted to start running last week but I pulled my right glute muscle running back to my desk so abruptly. >.<

It's much better now and I should be able to get some easy paced runs with you guys. Not sure I'll get to 100 though, hehehe!

I'm way behind this month. Wife has been sick for the last two week and last week of that in the hospital so I've been having to take care of the little ones and not had a lot of opportunity to run.

Hope your wife gets better soon! And yes taking care of the little ones is far more important than running. I'm dreadfully far behind because of how hectic December is beginning to become. I'm embarassed to say how many miles I've logged

John, hope your wife is better soon.

I'm envious of Jamie being down at Key West.

Saturday had a most unusual, exhilarating, scary experience. Was running in a neighborhood with a pond and large lots that have wooded areas. Came around a corner and found a 6 - 8 point buck running toward me. I watched him enthralled - until I realized I was in his way. Moved to the other side of the road....and he moved to the other side of the road. Petrified that I would gorged. Moved behind a bush and then he turned right before me and headed to the pond. Had to walk for 5 minutes because my heart was pounding so hard.

Currently at 78.2 miles. We will have beautiful weather thru the end of the year so hopefully can get my 100 miles and my yearly goal of 1225. Now getting my long runs up enough to not suffer in the Feb marathon.....well, not so sure about that one.

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.
