Since IM has taken over multiple events and looks like the same for B2B what has been the experience change if any with the first year they took over event and hosted it? Besides it costing much more did the event live up to the standards of the previous events before? Did the number of participants go way up? What were the overall experience/reports from the event? Or does it take a year or so to get better?

Thought of doing B2B this year but now with the supposed change in whom will be in charge wondering (besides cost) if it will be better or lesser of experience in the first year or better to look elsewhere in 2016.

I did Eagleman the year before and the year IM took over the event. This was already a big event that sold out before IM took it over. The only change in this event was the price tag. Other than that there was no noticeable difference.

They also took over Chesapeakeman and turned it into IM Maryland. I did not do these but a friend of mine did this last year of Chesapeakemen and first year of IM Maryland. The difference was price tag and number of participants. Before the change they had 150-200 people doing it, after I believe they are selling out. When you have that big of a change in participation it feels like a different race, but actually no real change.

2015 Challenge AC had maybe 800 finishers.  I don't think it was that high but for arguments sake I'll go with that number.  Switched to WTC this fall and ironman AC 2016 sold out in about 2 weeks so roughly 2000 people signed up.

The Challenge AC half had 500 thus year. WTC sold out at 2700. The Ironman name is very, very powerful.

I will be 20 this summer and am planning on doing Ironman Montreal. This will be my first year of triathlon, can I do this and stay away from injuries?

My thinking was that with three events, I could vary my training enough so it wouldn't grow stale prior to seeing positive results and finding the additional motivation I needed to continue training.

I was filled with anticipation for this event, as it was the first in what I hoped would be many triathlons, and I had no idea how I'd do.

I had read the articles on BT, I'd trained, and I thought I had prepared. There were, however, a few things that I didn't internalize despite what I'd been told.
