So I just saw that Highlands Ranch has dropped their Tune Up Sprint Triathlon.  And in case you didn't know, Arapahoe County has put the kibosh on triathlons in Aurora Rez so goodbye to Crescent Moon, YOLO, My Way or the Tri Way, and Harvest Moon.

That's five triathlons gone from the Denver Metro area in one fell swoop.

Arapahoe County decided that the cyclists on Quincy were a hindrance to traffic and a safety hazard (and I'm sure they heard it from all ten residents that live out there).  So they are not allowing any bike portion to ride on Quincy.

Highlands Ranch saw the popular Tune Up drop from well over 400 racers to about 150 in 2015.  Dropping USAT certification a few years ago was the beginning of the end, as well as a rotten race director previous to the current director the first and current directors are great) that alienated a number of athletes.

I saw that and I'm bummed. I am glad I did harvest moon last year. No more affordable half distance in the metro area.

Does this only leave Evergreen and Littlefoot as local (not Boulder) races?

It looks like the TriBella race is still happening at Cherry Creek. I can't tell whether the Metro Brokers race will be happening again this year (also CC). It looks like that's about it for the Denver metro area.

In looking around at alternatives, came across this:
http://106westtri.com/

Does anyone know anything about this? Seems like they have a pretty fancy website. However, looks like it'll be a first year thing (I think?) and issues with organization etc. always make me nervous.

This certainly looks ambitious.  $25k in prize money?  Not crazy about a September race in the mountains though.  Snow is a possibility.  Move it to July and I'd be in.

Yep I can't really think of any other metro tris other than the ones listed.

I just go an e-mail that harvest moon is moving to boulder res. So crappy water quality and same old half iron man course if I had to guess but it is cheaper and could be fun.

In November of 2000, I noticed that I was losing the feeling in my toes. The sensation traveled up my body and within a week, I was nearly 80% paralyzed.
