Subject: RE: Garmin 920 ebay Recently there was a more obvious bunch of garmin scams going around on ebay, essentially the items were underpriced, and the feedback was faked by other fake accounts used to do the same thing.
They then went and got a whole bunch of orders, cashed out, and they're gone with the cash by the time people start requesting refunds.
It's always buyer beware, make sure your purchase is covered by the ebay paypal protection, but even if it is, some of the scammers will still get away with the money, and then it's the businesses like ebay/paypal absorbing the cost of the scam, and their costs and prices could potentially go up.
I'm most worried about rewarding scammers, even if I get my $$ back.
So investigate the seller, see how old the feedback is, who is giving the feedback, and make sure your purchase is protected.
Personally I'd pay a little more and/or wait for a sale. |
