Hello BT!

4:30am:  1:15 on the KK

5:45am:  :30 minutes upper body strength

Later:  Hoping to get to Blue Lake for an OWS...weather is finally turning around!

And...here's Harley!  She is precious!

Edited to add...don't have time to fix photos...just tilt your head to get the full optimal cuteness!

Ah under the weather today I'm afraid. But I totally love your little pup! Looks like a cute little guy, I hope he likes running

Signed off early to read in bed! Awwwww...so cute! Even sideways.

Kind of easing into taper here. 1:05 trainer ride with some pickups; getting ready to start a mini-brick today.

Just brutally hot here--heat index of almost 120 yesterday, so aside from training, pretty much lay around on the couch (we have a 4-day weekend due to Reunification and Labor Day). Did some work for school, napped, etc. Supposedly Danang (where the race is) has been running about 10 degrees cooler. I'll believe it when I see it. "Cooler" means if I'm lucky, we might see low 90's (temps, not heat index) with high humidity on the run.

Went out on the bike for an hour and a half. My legs are finally starting to feel a little stronger.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
