Comments:

Emily, Paul, Dianne and I were running 2 marathons in 2 days. This was #1. I was taking this as a fun training run, so the goal was to finish, and have enough in me for tomorrows Fly Pig Marathon. I stuck with Emily the entire race. Nothing much to report really. It started raining at mile 6, and only got heavier as the race went on. Emily was having potty issues, so that forced me to do some walking while she was in the porta pot. This was actually good for me, to force me to do some walking, as that will happen A LOT for my triple, and probably for pacing Mel in Florida in a few weeks. I felt a bit more tired and sore in this race than I expected, but noting major. I had fun.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. This went pretty close to what I expected.
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed the stupid mylar blanket, got Emily and headed as fast as I could make her go towards the car. I knew the chills would start hitting soon and bad, since we were drenched, and it was still raining and chilly out. Finally got to the car and changed into dry cloths. Hands stayed numb for most of an hour.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. This was not for speed.

Event comments:

Derby is fun. The highlight is running through Churchhill Downs. The course is kinda average after that.

I signed up for Ironman Frankfurt, next year July - and I am very excited about it. I originally planned to run my first Marathon in the middle of September, but am not sure if this is wise.
