Subject: Can I cut my wetsuit sleeves
My sleeves are a bit long and thinking of cutting but worried about seams. the main seam that goes up the arm is taped so think can cut that. But there's a seam that goes around the wrist about 2" from end of arm and I'm nervous about getting close to that or cutting above that seem. Thanks for any advice.

It's a zoot. It has this baffle that runs along the forearm so think I should prob stay away from that but guessing as long as I stay away from that and untapped seams I'll be okay.

I have a TYR and I cut the sleeves up to within about 3/8's of an inch of the first stitched seam. So maybe I cut about an inch off the arms? It helped a little but didn't make a huge difference (although my wetsuit is a little small). I cut about 2-3" off the legs and that has helped get my feet out easily.

These days most wetsuits have a wrist cuff for a better seal (so if you cut the sleeves you lose that; not a dealbreaker though). If you do cut the sleeves, use IronMend to cover the seam on the inside and keep it from fraying. Some higher-end suits (ex. the 2016 B70 Helix, Roka Maverick) have fabric catch panels on the forearms that should not be cut.
