Hello BT!  How are ya!

So my race this weekend was great! I actually placed 1st in my age group--but for some reason I can't find any official results posted yet--which doesn't make sense to me.  I'll have to look closer later when I have time.  There is a good chance I was the only one in my age group!  Lol!  Whatever, I'll take it.  That just means I'm faster than all the middle aged ladies who are sitting on the couch eating bon bons and watching The Bachelor! Haaa...was that mean? I know my overall time was 3:28-ish.  I managed the run much better this time around--kept my heart rate in check.  It was slow, but it was a run and not a run/walk.

Today: 30 minute walk...still feeling tired from the weekend.

At 7am:  heading out on my new bike (a Trek Lush...she's purty!) to chase my cross country runners...here we go, another season of work with my runners!

Later at 10am: training with my coworkers

Later later:  hike with daughter and doggies

Let's see the that bike Kim. I'm loving my new one, but hardly been able to ride it after being gone all weekend. Congrats on the race too and 1st place

Nothing for me this morning, but have all 3 disciplines this after noon and evening.

20 miles bike @ 1:30
25 min run @ 3:00
1hr pool @ 8:00

everything will be easy easy.

Have a good day!

Congrats on the great race! Sounds like you had a good time.

This morning I was out and about very early for me. Over the weekend I trained with our local tri club, and one guy noticed that I had my seat set too low. So this morning I raised it up a bit. After riding it a bit, it does feel better. I may raise it a bit more, and move it more rearward.

So after the ruler and hex key got put away, I did 12 and a half miles on it, followed by a bit more than a mile run. Today is trash pickup day in my neighborhood, so I got to run past numerous trash cans at the curb. What do some people throw away that makes their cans smell that bad? Flies were staying away from some of them! But I digress...

Once I got home I got my coffee brewing, so that means I did my daily 2 minute plank. It sure seems like that should get easier some day.

This morning we're going to go to the community garden to put in a few hours work. It seems to be a very good cause to me. Last year they donated something like 4 tons of fresh produce to the local food pantries. Last time I was there I drove a wheel barrow for about an hour straight. The pedometer said I walked a bit over a mile. I would say that half of the return trips I was bringing back bales of hay, so it wasn't like I was getting a break on the return trips.

Have a great day!

Congrats on the race! My swim-only day--3300m, mostly 300's (kinda hard), 150's (hard), and 75's (really hard). trying to make myself more "narrow" than usual as I had to share a lane with two big, splashy guys who were doing breaststroke and had big kicks!

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
