Subject: RE: TT Bike or Aero Road Bike
A bike that you are comfortable on will trump aero, brand, or any other variable.

If you are the most comfortable on a mountain bike then that will be the most enjoyable and will get you training more.

I've been getting some decent mileage in the last few years. Nothing major. Just got a tri bike two weeks ago. Have done quite a few trainer rides before i took it on the road. It felt like I didn't know how to ride a bike. I couldn't hold a good line for the first 30-40 min. But after that it got way better.

It's a learning curve, but it's not so steep that it will keep you from riding.

Find the bike that's the most comfortable then go from there. I'd bet that those at the pointy end give up some comfort for performance.

When first going aero, your shop should begin by putting you in the least aggressive position. This means the aerobar pads will be almost level or just below the saddle.

The triathlon bike vs. road bike quandary. Before you even ask the road bike vs. tri bike question, you should have a couple sprint triathlons or duathlons under your belt.
