Swim

  • 586 yards
  • 02m 17s / 100 yards
Comments:

Quite choppy with starting/finishing surf. This is the roughest water I have ever raced in. I got a big mouthful of water right off the bat, and never felt like I settled into a routine. I had a hard time sighting.
Transition 1
  • 01m 41s
Comments:

Felt pretty good about this transition. I was 2nd place in age cat transition
Bike
  • 46m 18s
  • 14.5 miles

Comments:

I passed many women on the bike leg. I felt very strong on it. I passed maybe 12 women and 2 men, and 1 woman passed me back, and one woman passed me outright. One woman battled back and forth, but I did beat her.

Event comments:

Fun race. I got a medal! Even though I was 2 minutes slower than last year (the swim killed me) I ended up with a medal this year whereas I was 6th last year. Just reminds me that I cannot control who else shows up to race!
