Heeeey BT kids!

Hope you're all having a stellar saturday.

I did a neighborhood 5k this morning. It was in the park right outside my front door, so I just walked right out onto the trail and headed to the start. Great turnout for such a little neighborhood family style event. I think 250 people raced? I put together a 22:15, 7:09 pace, not too bad. 11th out of 250 and I missed winning my age group by 13 seconds. I'll head back later with my dog since there's a festival going on.

Have a great day!

Wow that IS a big neighborhood race.  The 5K race I did a week ago had 75 people at it which was up from the 35 or so at some of the local 5K's.  I figure anything over 100 people is a decent turn out and anything over 300 people is a big race.  :-)  There was another race director at last weeks race trying to recruit runner to do the same course at her race the following week. I opted to not race again.  I did a 36.4 mile bike ride followed by an 8.4 miles run.  I was a lot less sore after that work out than I was last weeks 5K race.

Do we really need chia, spelt, and quinoa? Is anything wrong with old-fashioned peanut butter, broccoli and brown rice?

We have new 10 and 20 week training plans for the New Year! These mini sprint plans are very conservative and will get any person thinking of training for a triathlon ready to cross the finish-line.

Cotswold super sprint - UK. Lots of bodies colliding, I swam half over someone, got kicked by some bloody breaststroker, and as a mob we poured towards the first buoy.

Already a cyclist and not a bad swimmer, I figured all I had to do was build up to running a few miles and I’d be ready to go. The challenge invigorated me, and I ran out to buy new running shoes.

Since I didn't have much time and since it's a super sprint, am I OK just go to at the training relatively hard through Thursday or even Friday?
