Hey BT! Earlier start than my usual early!

4:15am:  :45 minutes on the KK, solid Z2

5:00am:  30 minutes lower body/core

Need to get to an early meeting at school...zzzzz!

Karen, are the streets normally that crowded with people?  I get claustrophobic just looking at that picture--too many people!

Talked with a triathlon coach last night that I'm going to start a montly program with starting in November.  I'm excited to change things up and find a new level of bad a$$! Lol!

Have a great day!

OMG we had 4 1/2 total hours of meetings today at school. Talk about brain-dead!

AM: 45 minute trainer ride with some steady Z2 stuff and short pickups to Z3-4.
PM: 32 minutes of strength stuff

Actually traffic in the picture is lighter than normal, probably due to the flooding. That's an older neighborhood near the city center with narrow streets--at rush hour it would normally be absolutely packed, with people riding up on the sidewalks. PM rush hour with the onset of darkness is truly anarchic--it's gotten so I just won't go downtown at that hour except in a dire emergency. The newer areas like where I live have wider streets. Here only the main roads would be crowded at rush hour, but flooding can be bad as the area is very low-lying. It is not just an issue of rain but of tidal rivers and channels backing up through the drains at high tide--worst in spring and fall. Still more typhoons hitting surrounding countries so we will probably get more heavy rains as the "spin-off" from those systems or the rest of the week.

"Just" an hour of moderate downpour this PM and ongoing light rain, but due to saturation our sports fields are now under about a foot of water. If this keeps up, I could have a new OWS venue!

Good luck with the tri coach! I know mine works me harder than I ever did myself. For October and maybe November as well, I am just doing a generic "maintenance" plan that she makes for her athletes who are taking a break from individual coaching in the off-season. Just took a look at the next two weeks on Training Peaks, and even that is more than I used to do most of the time when I was coaching myself. Yikes. But I like the variety. Just got tired of having to come up with things and second -guess myself all the time.

I was supposed to ride this morning, but I found that my front tire was flat. Didn't have the time or inclination to change it out. This is now the third flat in about four months I've had with a particular brand of tube (out of five tubes purchased). I'm very unhappy about this, and will not be purchasing that brand again.

I'll be out for the rest of the week. Have a great week and weekend!

Been pretty busy with a fundraiser for my daughter's swim club lately with lots of meetings so my time for working out has been a bit erratic at best. Today's workout was only about a half hour in the pool. I got 2 500s in in that amount of time. I've got a Masters' meet in a few weeks, so I was concentrating on flip turns and bilatteral breathing.

The last few weeks I've also been wearing a drag suit instead of my usual tri shorts. I think next week I will switch back and see if that helps with speed.

Have a great evening all,

J White
