Subject: Longtime BTer "popsracer" Cancer - Dedication Site

Our friend and mentor Steve "popsracer" Peschek is losing his battle with cancer.

In his own words "I had hoped I would never have to write this message but it's time. Most of you know I have been sick. If fact, I was very ill seven years ago and was blessed enough to train and do so many races while in remission. Many of you shared my adventures with me as I got to share in yours. A huge part of the life I love which I have written about in the past has been your friendship and camaraderie. After being on the site for years, I was so thrilled and still am to be a manatee.

So, I was informed recently that this disease will take my life soon. I guess this is good bye and my chance to tell you all how much you mean to me. It would be easy for me to ramble on a bit I think it best to keep it short and sweet. I wish you all the best in all your journeys. "

Now we invite you, his triathlon family and friends to honor Steve and share your adventures. Many of us have never even met Steve in person, however, he has touched so many of our lives.

Please consider making a donation and dedicating your next race to Steve, at this American Cancer Society dedication site. We have silicone bracelets to honor Steve available for you to wear. For more information please send a message here to user mtnbikerchk or an email to mtnbikerchk at hotmail dot com.

Thank you for celebrating Steve's life.

I just saw this (been away for a long time).

With a very sad and heavy heart, my condolences go out to "Popsracer"'s family, friends, and to the BT community.

R.I.P. Steve.

CANCER SUCKS.

I have now been one month without testosterone and I think that has been the cause of muscle soreness, slow recovery after a good workout, cramps, mild muscle pulls, etc.

Has anyone else had a PSA (blood test for prostate cancer) test come back elevated and have it be blamed on too much time bouncing around on a bike seat?

At some point I remember thinking about the movie CAPE FEAR. This is what it seemed like when I was around a lot of people. It was just a lot of commotion of waves, arms and feet.
