Subject: Roller feedback
Just curious to get some feedback from anyone with experience on the Elite Parabolic Rollers and/or the Tacx Galaxias? I want to try something different as I get extremely bored on my cycleops magneto.

Any pros/cons that you are willing to share would be appreciated.

Regards

I've not used either of those particular rollers, but I have been riding rollers during the winter months for over 20 years. I prefer the rollers with aluminum drums versus rollers with some type of plastic drum. In my opinion the aluminum drums are quieter, smoother, and offer the right amount of resistance (without needing any additional resistance units).

Similar to lots of equipment in our sport, you can spend quite a bit of money on rollers. I've been using the Performance brand (Travel Trac, I think) aluminum rollers the past couple of seasons with zero issues. Not exactly the information you were looking for, but I hope it helps.

slornow (Randy) on this forum does a lot of his training on the E-motion rollers. He has said in the past that it is one of the best triathlon related purchases he has ever made.

You may want to send him a message if you are interested.

Received the Tacx rollers on Friday. About 20 minutes to unpackage and setup. Was on them about 30 minutes later. Took about 5-10 minutes to get the feel for them before I started a ride. Did 25 minutes on them yesterday and just over 30 today. Feeling pretty comfortable on them thus far, seem to work best if I focus on the floor about 3 feet in front of the bike. Definitely a different workout than my fixed trainer. I'll update as I get more comfortable.
