Hello all!

If my plan works out, hopefully I'll be racing IMAZ in 2017.

I'm going to be in Phoenix in February and I'll be staying with a friend who has offered me the use of her road bike (if memory serves it's a Trek from about 2011).

I'd like to ride part of the course while I'm there, but I'm not sure how safe the roads are, if at all navigable on a bike. Or if parts of it are OK, what segments.

I appreciate any guidance - thanks!

Beeline has wide shoulders on each side, but they tend to be full of crap until race day. Be prepared for flats from thorns.

You should post again when closer to Feb as several of us may be willing to join for a loop or two and groups can be safree on narrow portions and part of the beeline.

I have been on the Beeline Hwy twice already recently. I would start out with a swim at Saguaro Lake and then park on Shea to start my loop rides.

I own both a road bike and a tri bike. I am wondering which bike I should be riding during off season training, or does it matter?

Riding Zen means nothing more than being keenly aware of your surroundings and in control of your emotional state at all times. It also means riding safe and riding smart.

I was not an official; I simply observed the race and the officials doing their thing. Here is what I saw:
