Good morning BT!

5:45am:  :50 minutes on the bike trainer, fairly easy with some pick up repeats.   Followed that up with some core.

Karen...I gave Kinvaras a try several years ago but found I cannot run in a lower heel drop shoe--I got horrible calf cramps!

Have great workouts today guys!

6:45 - easy 20' run

7:05 - 25' core work

It's "cold" here, a nice 47, and raining. It made my run feel great (except for the wind).

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend, everyone!

Fell asleep early again!

6 AM: One hour run with a few pick-ups

11 AM: 2800m of swimming

I actually never realized that Kinvara were low-drop shoes until I'd been wearing them for a while. Originally got them as racing flats, but they're so comfortable I would happily train in them full time. Unfortunately, the insoles don't seem to be very durable--they tend to fall apart after about 3 months of running in tropical humidity. I think because I'm light and not a heel striker, a lot of running shoes end up being too heavy and rigid to let me go through my natural stride, and just don't feel comfortable. I don't have that issue with the Kinvara.

Have been lucky to have had few issues with my calf cramps over the years--I know a lot of people do. It is usually glutes/hamstrings that stage protests in my case.

Do we really need chia, spelt, and quinoa? Is anything wrong with old-fashioned peanut butter, broccoli and brown rice?

We have new 10 and 20 week training plans for the New Year! These mini sprint plans are very conservative and will get any person thinking of training for a triathlon ready to cross the finish-line.

Cotswold super sprint - UK. Lots of bodies colliding, I swam half over someone, got kicked by some bloody breaststroker, and as a mob we poured towards the first buoy.

Already a cyclist and not a bad swimmer, I figured all I had to do was build up to running a few miles and I’d be ready to go. The challenge invigorated me, and I ran out to buy new running shoes.

Since I didn't have much time and since it's a super sprint, am I OK just go to at the training relatively hard through Thursday or even Friday?
