On the verge of signing up. Have an AirBNB at the finish already so pretty sure it's a go. Anyone else?

I'll be there!

I signed up for vineman and was surprised in the venue change (the email got filtered to my promotions emails).

The run was very different, went the opposite direction last year. I haven't looked to see if they were going to change it for this year.

Yup, they cut all past ties with the Vineman course.  Should be a faster course with a net downhill and the elimination of Chalk Hill on the bike course along with making the run course dead flat.

Hrm, hottish out here 108F yesterday. Could be warm on race day. Came down with PF here... sucky. I will probably be out on the course all day as I can't train through the foot pain for run.

Love the new course (except for a few roads that need to be completely repaved. Grats anyone who finished this weekend.

Hello. Congrats on you Ironman Santa Rosa! I had signed up for 2018 and read some real frustrated reports from others who did this race. I heard that Santa Rosa IronMan course change is horrible because of congestion and anti-IronMan locals. Scared to death doing Santa Rosa but already signed up for 2018 . They said the bike course was dangerous on the open road and locals spitting on bikers, yelling out "Get off the roads", and drivers coming close to riders. And the pavement was real rough going. My question is would you do this race again? Or is it done and gone because it wasn't all that?

Bumping this up to the top. We are 7 weeks out from IMSR!

This will be my first Ironman and I'm getting/been very excited. Let's get the discussion going again.

Who's going and how is your training progressing?

I am in for this one! 39 days til raceday! Training is going quite well but I am so tired! All biking has been on my smart trainer, rode 100 miles of the course already, doing 112 this Saturday, good times!

During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?
