Good morning BT!

4:45am:  :30 minute easy run with some strides thrown in

5:15am:  :45 minutes 5X5 stregnth + core

Later:  Kids bootcamp.

There is a nutrition component to my bootcamp & my biggest client dropped 10 pounds this first week!  One requirement to join was they had to give up all sugar for the 6 weeks, he's doing awesome!

Have a great day!

10 lbs, wow.  My kids are swimmers and its amazing what they will eat if we don't tell them to be conscience of what the are eating.

AM long dog walk and strength WO. Stayed up too late watching the game and couldn't get in a trainer ride, hopefully tonight.

All sugars or just refined sugars?

Pool swim this morning, short but productive at 1800 yards.

1 hour PM scheduled recovery run.

Like to hear more about the cut out of sugars on whether it was just refined sugars.

Have a great Tuesday!

almost made it to 8 today in the rain. it got windy and cold, so I headed back home.

I finally went to Dr and as expected, meniscus might have a tear. Going for MRI this week. Worst case hopefully is minor cleanup, but that means several months without running.

Great to hear about his weight loss. Thomas asks a good question about what sugars they give up.

11:40 - 20' easy run

12:00 - 40' strength

So of course it's almost 80 today. Why couldn't I have this weather on Sunday? Oh well, makes for a nice view out my window.

Have a great day!

Still trying to get back in the habit of logging workouts -I'm doing them, just not good about recording them.

5:15am - 60 min power spin - we focused on long intervals focusing on high Z3-5 efforts...it was a great workout!

8am - 45 min TRX circuit..

I teach a 4 week Food Fundamentals class every couple months to city employees and the first week we emphasize limiting and cutting out sugar from all sources. Try to eliminate all added sugar or foods with added sugar - and read those labels - it is hidden EVERYWHERE!

Naturally occurring sugar (mainly from fruits) are limited to a couple servings a day and try to go with low sugar fruits. If the true emphasis is weight loss, this needs to be a priority (compared to athletic performance).
The goal for us is to eliminate blood sugar spikes and lows, thus keeping cravings to a minimum and focusing on whole food sources, lots of healthy fats, protein and veggies!

Not sure how Kim structures her Food Camp (which sounds amazing BTW) but this is what I focus on with my participants. it's shocking what they come back with regarding what they were eating and how much sugar was actually in their food.
