Yikes--If that is really the situation then it would mean extreme fatigue or overtraining--might want to let your coach know. The only time I have noticed that is within a few days after a race on an easy ride, and when really, really jet-lagged. Could also be some kind of malfunction--I tend to get mysterious drops and rises until the strap gets wet
(which it does quickly, from sweat
) and occasionally at other times, with no change in effort, power, or feelings of well-being. Assuming it is something that momentarily disrupts the signal.
7:30 AM: 2 hours and 18 minutes of total humiliation at the hands of two European pro guys, a couple of big non-pro German dudes, one Swiss Daniela wanna-be, and one young British woman who claims she's only been riding for five weeks
(if so, we may be seeing her in the pro ranks soon!
) 67 km of mostly hilly riding with two 7 km. stretches
(flat to slightly up
) called "terminators" where everyone tries to drop everyone else. You can guess who got dropped in the first ten seconds. On the first, I managed to keep the young beginner in sight; on the second, I think I was 300m behind her. Ugh. Really thought I would puke all over self and bike!
10 AM-ish: 28 minute run. It actually went pretty well, because it was such a relief to be off the bike and just running at my own pace.
PM: About half an hour of leisurely swimming, trying to recover from above and one-hour deep tissue massage, which was possibly worse than 2 X "Terminator"!
