Good Morning! I am doing my first Triathlon in Oro valley, AZ on March 25th, 2017. I am very excited, and am trying to go as low cost as possible.

I did my first 14 miles yesterday, and need butt protection. EEK!

I am 5'8" I am 260 pounds, and have a large Diabetes stomach. Does anyone have advice on good Tri shorts (that I can swim in) that are high waisted? I will use a sports bra with a SPF swim shirt over it. The swim shorts I am currently wearing cut me off at the belly button and hurts 1/2 way through the bike ride.

Also, I have just finished my first three times at the distance. Swim 850 m 20:05, Bike 14.6 miles 1:23:16, Run 3.1 Miles 51:56. Those are the times for me to beat.

Hugs!
Boofie

I drink during my runs but I am a profuse sweater and it seems like I just can't keep up with my fluid needs. Would it be helpful to switch to an electrolyte drink for my fluid needs?

I started training for triathlons in my early 20's but never entered one. Twenty years later found me still a newbie, with many extra pounds, much more humility and a healthy dose of reality.
