Good morning BT!

So far:  one cup of coffee

Last big brick before St George today:  3:00:00 on the trainer--2nd hour will be 4X12min repeats in Z3-4 with 6 min recovery. Then run off the bike with 6X2:00 minute above race pace intervals.  Sounds lovely   Wish me luck!  I'm tracking a bunch of people doing IM Texas today--that should keep me occupied on the trainer along with some DVRd shows I've been saving up!

Have a great Saturday!

Have a great workout!

10 mile "race" for me this morning.

A race I use to flirt with breaking an hour on a hilly course today took me just under 1:30 Oh how coming back is so much fun!

Hi everybody.  It's a warm day here, forecast of 91.  I got in my Saturday long run earlier, and I really felt the heat since I didn't get out as early as I have been recently.  If I can find the energy I will try to sneak in a 30-40 minute session in the pool later to cap my heaviest swim week in longer than I can remember.  I'm trying to avoid last year's slow swim at SG with a couple of good swim weeks leading up to the event.  It may be too little, too late, but I'm hoping it will help.

Have a great Saturday!

Good luck with the ride--sound painful and kind of like next week's ride for me!

About an hour of biking here--making sure all systems are go and a few race-pace pickups plus fifteen minutes of running. It was nice to do them on dedicated bike/run trails for once--we don't have any in Saigon, actually I think maybe in all of Vietnam! Nice break from all motorbike, all the time.

Went on a super fantastic ride today. (3:10) 45.5 miles of some amazing climbs (4,300ft) and some super fast descents. Started out with a killer Cat1 climb right out of the gate, 3 mile warm up and then straight up for 3,500ft in 7 miles! 800ft descent in 2 miles and then back up 8-900ft over the next 10 miles and then all down hill from there. (these numbers are estimates based on ride data from another rider on the same course)

About mile 40 there was a swollen river running across the road. I decided to sit my arse right down in it and let that beautiful cold water wash over my hot and tired legs, it felt so wonderful and it was so beautiful out I decided I should take a picture. Thats about the time I made the sudden and stark realization my phone was in my back jersey pocket fully submerged under water! Good bye phone, good bye ride data! DOH!!!

Totally needed to upgrade my phone anyways, lol. Mostly bummed about losing the ride data. Anyways, all the hard work is done on the bike before SG. Snow Canyon has got nothing on me, feeling very confident for the ride.

LOL on the phone.  I can appreciate that "oh &%$#" moment when the light goes on and you realize you just went underwater with your phone in pocket.  Did the same thing last year doing a swim/bike brick workout.  Tucked my phone in the little pocket on my trisuit while prepping the bike, then went out to the pool for my swim.  Doh.

Sounds like a heck of a ride you had.  Hang on to that 5:30 goal of yours, you might surprise yourself.
