Good morning BT!

5:00am:  60 minutes 5X5 strength + core

Later:  hopefully an OWS--I bought two new pairs of goggles and need to check them out to see which I'll use for St. George

Robert and David--seems like we're all in the same boat, tired and ready to get to this race!  My run yesterday was a bit of a sufferfest. My legs were just so tired. In fact I tripped and fell in one section of the trail because I just wasn't lifting my feet up enough and my toe caught a rock.

Lundy--yay for a race coming up!  I love the Oly distance.  I think after this HIM I will stick to Olys and sprints for a while!

Have a great Monday peeps!

That trail run sounds like my tri run on Sunday. Clearly some fatigue/pacing issues going on. On the plus side, I had a good swim (conditions became unexpectedly tougher when the current picked up right before the start, and many of the younger girls had trouble navigating in the swells) and awesome bike. I placed fifth overall on the bike, and led my AG in it (as well as the swim) for what I think is the first time in my triathlon life.

Then I got off and tried to run....oops! Had been dealing with some major fatigue issues (mainly butt muscles, plus legs just feeling tired as on feet more than usual at work) since about Tuesday of last week, and I think I dug myself into a hole with a run Thursday night in the heat. There was just nothing there. It was literally a big effort to pick up my feet enough to maintain a semblance of running motion. Frustrated as I felt like I had the energy to run faster otherwise, but legs just wouldn't move. Ended up second in AG (again....for the fourth time in this race!) and ninth overall. It was a strong field and the first woman was a former pro but still...Grrrr. With a normal run, should have been about fifth or sixth.

Taking today off due to a variety of logistical snafus that prevented both swim or an easy trainer ride. Now in final stages of putting Rover back together. He is seriously rusting, despite spending all fall, winter, and spring indoors, and needs a bunch of bolts and probably a derailleur replaced. Ugh--one more thing to do!

Weight training and core workout at 5:00 AM

Hurt my foot yesterday playing basketball with the church youth group. Nothing serious (I hope) but gave it the day off today and skipped my run.

Congrats on race Hot Runner, great job!

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning all !!  Had beautiful running conditions this morning, such a welcome break from the recent warm temps.  Temps in the low 50's and totally overcast at 6AM.  Ran about an hour, covering some different terrain from usual.  Very nice.

Sorry to hear about your stumble, Kim.  I did the same thing a couple months back, and it happened to be on the first day I went without gloves in many months, so tore up my hands a bit.  Haven't run gloveless since until this weekend when the temps got so high.  That's usually a fatigue issue, at least for me.  Tired, don't see the rock, then the face dive.  Happens about once a year.

Home stretch for us now, just focus on making to the starting line healthy at this stage.

Knocked out 40 minutes on the trainer...legs felt weak since I did a decent effort 8 mile run Sunday.

The weather for the Kentucky Derby Festival mini marathon looks awful! High of 89. Doesn't look like a PR day

Well hello. I once did the same thing, Kim, except I think I broke my toe. It turned purple and eventually the nail fell out. Hurt like heck for a few weeks. Sorry to hear about yours.

12:00 - 1,200 yard swim, emphasis on speed. A relative term, as I am a slow swimmer, but that is the focus this week.

Have a great day.
