Good morning BT!

6:30am:  5X5 strong lift + core with my daughters

In a few mins:  heading out for a 30 minute run with the dog squad

Gorgeous weather here the last few days so I'm guessing some pool lounging is in the cards later today!

Have a great day BT!

easy 2-mile run; still knocking the rust off...and there is LOTS to knock off!! LOL! I'm tinkering with using my HR monitor to train with HR zones...kept today's run in zone "4", but I'm not sure my monitor settings are quite accurate yet. My HR has always run high (180+) when I run, no matter the effort, so zone training will be challenging.

Track brick was okay yesterday. I decided to try and do it without socks - purpose to see if running sockless is a possibility at my next race. It was kind of hard to get in and out of my bike/run shoes. I did get a little hot spot on top of my right foot, but I think that's a result of the tongue of the shoe being a bit off.

Today - 11:50 - 3,300 yards. Main set was 5 sets of 200 moderate, 2 x 100 sprint. I didn't make a single one of my sprint intervals. It stunk.

I'm supposed to ride 40 miles tomorrow, but will spend most of my day at prison ministry. So, I would guess that the ride won't happen. Alas.

Robert - my HR tends to be a bit high, too. Have you done any sort of HR test? How are you determining your zones?

I have not done any sort of HR test. So far, I am going solely based on what my Garmin was telling me. I put in all my bio info (age, weight, etc), but have not yet played with any further configuration for it to determine HR zones.

AM: 3600m of swimming. Main set was 4 X 400m. Arrgh!

PM: 1:05 easy trainer ride.

Still cool, blustery weather here in the Northwest. Better stuff promised for the weekend. Planning to do OWS tomorrow so hope it materializes!
