Good morning BT!

Took the dogs out for a hike earlier this morning.  On tap today:  2 hour mountain bike ride--and I will actually have company!  I invited a friend that I'm just getting to know--she owns a gym here in town.  She's more the boot camp type but has expressed interest in going out biking with me.  We'll see if she can hang!

Elton--congrats on the race, that's terrific!!!  Now get that knee feeling better so you can keep racing like that!

Jamie--hiiiiiilarious!  Is that really your hair??!!  What a fun event!

J White--you also had a fun race!  I love the 80s theme idea, what a blast.

I'm going to try to stalk Karen and see where she is in IMCDA 70.3.

*Crud, don't remember her last name so can't really look her up--I bet she's out there crushing it though!

Have a great day BT!

Yea Kim, I'm going for the poodle look these days nah it's a wig that we were able to weave into my real hair so I still had my natural hairline. It was pretty convincing. If I win best costume I get a years supply of ice cream. I'm probably going for another 6-8 miles today at the park. Good luck to Karen at CDA!!

Kim
I had a quick peek at the bib list for CDA . I see only a few 'Karens' listed in her AG...

I was #123! Not an awesome race--for some reason had major issues with cramping on about the last 15 miles of the bike and 3 1/2 miles of the run. 13th in AG in 5:31. Ouch!

Thanks Kim. The knee actually felt okay in race. I have MRI Tuesday and visit with Dr on Thursday.

Did power intervals on bike this morning for one hour. My legs were complaining.

1hr mountain bike ride this morning with a group of buddies...always love getting out on the trails. Did 20min swimming this afternoon...I really need to work on my swim endurance. I guess I just need to swim more?

Bummer about the cramping Karen. Hope you're not too beaten up over it. Looking forward to a race report.

6 mile run tonight. Didn't even care that a bird took a dump on me because this was my view:

Rode 136 km in the heat. Left knee really tight/sore, possibly from tightness in hamstrings, glutes ??

Karen - sorry to hear about the cramping issues, but way to go !
Kim, hope you had a great mtn bike ride

Hey all - thanks for the well wishes. I'm fine, just some bruises. Probably more pain to my pride than anything else.

Today, I did the bike portion of my brick that I was supposed to do yesterday. Fortunately, everything felt good. Better weather, but that also meant a lot of folks were out, so there were several points on the trail I had to slow down. As I was trying to hit certain paces, that definitely was a negative. But, I got it in!

Karen, I know your disappointed with the result, but I hope the scenery and the mental challenge made it worthwhile!

Went on my first OWS to try it before race day (less than two weeks away - yeah, I'm getting pretty nervous). Kept it to 600 m (legs were tired after Saturday brick). Hurried home, jumped on the bike for 25 miles. Having never been a distance athlete, it's pretty big for me to be able to do that I did forget sunblock, so my back is pretty toasty today. But, the ride was beautiful and I kept a decent pace (for me).
