Subject: neck pain on bike
Other than riding more, is there something to be done for the pain in neck and upper shoulders on the bike? I have a new decent road bike and friend who owns the LBS spent a long time using all the bells and whistles to fit it to me, so that's not it.

Are there neck exercises to do to strengthen the neck? Thinking something I've heard football players do. Any tips?

If the fit is good there is a chance you may still need to get used to it though generally there should be less. Was this ride notably longer than you had been doing before?

It's possible you're carrying more tension through these areas than you realize. Are you changing positions some, rolling your shoulders or anything to loosen things up every now & then?
