Hello BT, how was your Spectacular Sunday? Did you push your limits during a race or training, lets hear about it.

Feel pretty good today. I had a amazing day of training myself, been trying to get back in the game and today was a good day. Ride/Swim/Ride/Run

21 mile coastal ride from Ventura to Carpinteria to meet up with the swim club. Got there with just enough time to slither my now 10lb overweight body into my now too tight wetsuit, thank goodness for Tri-Slide, lol Was shooting for a 2 miler off the coast in about 50-60ft of water. Hammy started seizing up so cut it short at 1.5 miles. By the time I got out the hamster seized up completely and left me in some intense pain for about 5 minutes unable to move. I was able to work through it and didn't let it win. Hung out with friends and filled up on some calories and re-hydrated.

Back on the bike and back down the coast. Got home and still felt pretty good so, lets make it a tri training day. Off the bike and into the run shoes and out the door for a 5 miler. I could feel it starting to hurt, a good hurt. On the way home I made a pit stop at the local Tri Sports store and dropped a down payment on a brand spanking new Garmin 735xt. Look forward to getting some true swim metrics and more advanced bike and run data without having to rely on my cellphone/strava.

42 miles on the bike
1.5 miles in the salty sea
5 miles on the run

That sounds like quite a day! Limit-pushing here consisted of four hours on the bike--that is about the longest training ride I ever do. (Have probably ridden 6-7 hours on some tours but not hard riding.) Two hours of "warmup" (it was already very warm LOL) in the industrial park and then home to the trainer for the serious (HIM race effort) last half of the workout. Then 30 minutes of running after.

It was weird--my legs didn't get all that tired and nothing really hurt, but my body and my butt in particular were SO sick of sitting on the bike, and it felt SO good to get off. I have no idea how people do full IM! Unless riding through truly inspiring scenery, I have always had my fill of biking after 3-4 hours!
