Subject: RE: Bonelli Olympic Distance, San Dimas, 9/30 Interesting that you would bring this race up. I'm considering jumping in also. I just did the LA oly, and I'm curious what kind of a time I can get if I don't get pounded to death in the first event. I did one shorter distance at Bonelli last year. The water was warm but a little muddy. The bike course had some hills as I recall but it was up and down with no sustained climbs. I think maybe my race had 1 lap of the Oly course that has three laps. The run was interesting: some trails and short steep hills.
The race I did was a bit disorganized, the officials weren't sure of the swim course and changed the start location once or twice, also the timing was done by hand, not chip.
I swear I read that Bonelli's races are under new management now. Bottom line is, its a nice place to race and I'm 64.32% comitted to racing.
I'd be interested in hearing from someone who has raced at Bonelli this year. |
