Subject: Triathlon training bag/ transition bag recommendations
Hi all
I'm looking for a bag that I can use to double as one that I can use to carry all my stuff during training and use on race days. Any brand recommendations? I've come across orca and Kitbricks - does anyone use either of these two and would you recommend them? Any particular brand and bag recommended is highly appreciated.

Many thanks!

I have a Rocket Science Sport Jane/Joe Bag. It works great for me. There is room to hold everything I need. They are around $70.

Whatever you decide, I recommend a backpack.  So much easier when hauling your stuff from the car to transition.  Also, err on smaller versus larger.

Maybe this is too philosophical for a Monday morning, but I would actually recommend you don't use the same bag for both.  I think the best transition strategy is minimalist.  It keeps you focused on race day and less area clutter.  On race day I only bring race gear.

For training I want room for pool toys, toiletries, etc.

Here's a nice deal at Swimoutlet.com: https://www.swimoutlet.com/p/louis-garneau-trizone-30-transition-bag-8136922/?color=9325

But they have a TON of options.

I used a TYR bag for years.  Here's the modern version: https://www.swimoutlet.com/p/tyr-triathlon-backpack-8117745/?q=1&richrelevance&ClickCP&item_pagerr1

I just have an old, small sized hockey bag. It zips open at the top so it's easy access to everything inside.

I have a transition bag from Blue Seventy that I have used for years. Have even taken it on a couple of bike tours in Europe, and lived out of it plus a small daypack for six weeks. It has a big waterproof compartment at the bottom that will fit a full wetsuit plus your sweaty clothes and/or shoes. That's really nice--most bags don't have that big a compartment, or it's on the side and harder to access. There are also a lot of compartment for your electronics (padded), sunglasses, nutrition, etc. Blue Seventy also makes a smaller bag that still has the water proof compartment and is intended more for swim and other workouts.
