Thrill a minute here in Saigon:
AM: 40 minute pool run
PM: Had hoped to get in a swim since pool is off-limits due to a meet Wednesday and Thursday, but workout nixed by YET ANOTHER thunderstorm (we had a tropical storm all weekend with intermittent high winds, torrential rain, and flooding ). Ended up doing strength routine in the gym for half an hour instead. Now it looks like swims will have to be Friday and Saturday AM instead.
I am truly getting to my snapping point between no running and a rainy season that just. won't. quit!
Going to try some run/walk on Saturday--not sure how that will go. Things are much better but I still don't feel like it's 100%. Hard to say since I'm not entirely clear exactly what was wrong in the first place, and no MRI or specialist has been able to definitively tell me. If what's left (tingling and occasional mild soreness, but not always in the area that originally hurt ) is just nerve irritation or tendons and joints getting used to being used again (I'm back to normal shoes at work ), I doubt limited running will make much difference one way or another--those issues tend to go away on their own timetable regardless of what you do or don't do about it. |
