Subject: Links in editor messed up

When I add a link to a post or message, BT seems to be reformatting them after they are created. What I mean is, I put the link in, check it in Tools > Source Code. The HTML looks to be correct, I post it and all kinds of crazy happens.

Yeah, I see that BT helpfully added stuff to the link. Let's see if this works better:   https://www.strava.com/activities/1118929438

3100 climbing feet.

Looks correct and yet, when I post it, this is what happens to the link

In fact, that is happening in this very post. There was a PRE before/after the example and the editor is "fixing" it for me.

Thanks.
Let me see what happens if I put something in.

OK, here's a link that I put in with no code. www.google.com

And then here's what happens if I type in the HTML myself Link

How are you adding the link? By copy/paste?

Here's what happens if I copy/paste:

https://www.google.com/

So, this is all working OK for me.

That extra stuff that's being added is text formatting. Maybe there's some text formatting at Strava or wherever you are pasting from that's being carried over?

If you copy and paste the link from a browser, it seems to work fine.

Can you also try Control-Shift-V to paste? This will remove the formatting as you paste and maybe fix it?

If the source code does not have the extra formatting, where is it coming from? And I did copy/paste the link from the address bar in my browser (Firefox).

EDIT:  it worked fine for me.  It's also working in the individual workouts over the training log.

I don't see anywhere on BT (either in forums or Training log or Blog It) where you can even view the source code, so I'm having a hard time following what you are saying is happening.

You copy a link from your browser's URL bar, then you come to BT and hit paste. OK, got it.
But when you say you checked the source code, where are you looking at that? The article submission tool is the only place I can find where there's an HTML editor or source code tab. Maybe you can send a screenshot so I can understand what you mean?

So you are viewing the source code in your browser.
OK.

The crazy code you are seeing below is what happens if you put a space into an HTML link.

If you copy and paste the link from a browser, it seems to work fine.

Can you also try Control-Shift-V to paste? This will remove the formatting as you paste and maybe fix it?

If the source code looks correct, why is it being reformatted?

Maybe you are copying a space in there by accident? The code your showing me is a link that includes a space. (Links can't have spaces, so it puts the percent sign and some other stuff instead.)

Can you see if it happens in another browser? Because I can't make it happen and no one else has complained of the same problem, I don't think it's a BT problem.
