Unreal. Two days ago the A/C was cranking and I was smoking a batch of bacon in the backyard. I believe this is the most snow I’ve seen since moving here in 99. The city was grinding to a halt last night but I made it home OK. There were cars were strewn all over the place even tho there wasn’t any ice! Schools are even delaying classes today. This probably seems silly to those of you living north of Dallas, but we really aren’t prepared for such events.

The dog is having a blast! I was throwing a stick and she couldn't figure out where the stick disappeared to since stye were sinking in the snow.

Wow - that's really cool and more snow than I would have anticipated.

One of the triathletes I know said she was swimming this morning (outdoors, of course) and it was snowing.  We're smart enough to close our outdoor pools before it gets cold.

We had a blast in it last night. I was at a work thing until 10 and when we went outside a snowball fight erupted. Being a native New Yorker, it brought back good memories. The downside is that a musician I've been wanting to see for 4 years was finally playing in Austin last night. I bought my ticket months ago, showed up at the door and wouldn't you know it, cancelled due to the snow...I made up for it by taking my dog out in the backyard. She loved the snow when we lived in Montreal.

I wish I had gone to Barton Springs for a night swim in the snow storm last night!

My daughter had classes delayed 2 hours this AM. She said someone pulled a fire alarm once school finally started, so the school was evacuated. A 2000 student snowball fight ensued!

That’s pretty funny. I will say that this cold weather has been a great treat around the house. Not many days out of the year that we can get the fireplace going. I’ve also been leaving the oven on to make boar jerky out of some wild pigs that I caught out at the ranch. Doing that in the usual Texas heat sounds miserable.
