Does telling a joke that makes fun of stereotypes make you a racist?

Does laughing at ‘racist’ jokes make you a racist?

A Frenchman, an Italian and an Irishman all have a fly in their whiskey. The Frenchman sends his drink back, the Italian flicks the fly off and drinks his whiskey. The Irishman picks up the fly, squeezes it and says, “Spit it out!”

Does this mean I think all Irishmen are drunks? Does it mean I hate the Irish? No.

Political correctness says you cannot tell jokes about blacks, homosexuals, women, Muslims, Jews, Mexicans....pretty much any grouping of people that there are stereotypes....well, except white male rednecks.


Does calling Haiti a sheethole make you a racist? Does preferring educated immigrants make you racist?
