1.21.18 Sunny Sunday!

2.5 hr ride for me. Rode with a friend from work, who isn’t quite in shape yet, so there were a lot of unexpected breaks. Also not helping - 21 mph wind in our faces on pretty much all the big climbs. Because of course.

Wish we had somewhere to hike anywhere nearby....plus decent weather. Somehow dry season never came this year. Should have started about two months ago. Still gloomy and humid most days with periodic heavy rain. Ugh.

3:15 trainer ride, most Z2-3. Replaced my power meter battery yesterday and the numbers are making a lot more sense! Have to wonder how accurate Wednesday's test was--there were a few weird dips toward the end that I recall seeing and not knowing why as no apparent change in effort. Just figured it was fatigue. But the end result was reasonable--have only tested higher once, when I was in peak shape a few weeks before I did a 5:16 HIM. Really no desire to repeat that test anytime soon to find out!

Plus hauling my 17-pound cat to the vet for yearly shots. I think that ought to count as strength training! (He's not obese--sturdy build with "love handles", but just really big--knee-high, and 38 inches long when he stretches out! Not counting tail, which he doesn't have anyway.) Actually easier to wrangle than the six-pound one, who goes feral when you try to put her in a carrier.
