Subject: Aero mounted hydration system?
Has anyone had any experience with an aerobar hydration system, similar to the Profile Design one? Adding some upgrades to my bike and I was considering an aero mounted hydration system. They seem pretty efficient.

I just purchased the Profiel Design Fast Forward Seatpost, I will eventually get a pair of new wheels, then that is it for upgrading my standard-geometry road bike. Then it's time for a tri-specific!!!

Let me know how that seatpost works out. I just had my borrowed tribike repossessed, so I'm back to my converted road bike.

I bought Profile Design's aerobar drinking bottle, but haven't stopped long enough to install it. I was cautioned not to use anything but water in it, unless I liked sticky handlebars. Evidently it has a tendency to slosh when you hit a bump.

I have the Profile Aerodrink bottle. I love it, apart from the previously mentioned sloshing problem. Its difficult to avoid getting splashed on some of these rural Minnesota roads. It survived my accident better than I did by the way. The large bore straw is aeasy to drink from. Perhaps a little too easy I have been known to run out of drink on my runs

What's the purpose of the mesh "top"?  I'm guessing it's to make refilling it simple to do on the road.  Is that the case?

The sponge top is for refilling as well as keeping the water in the bottle

I have the slipstream bar end system, I like it because the bottle is see threw it allows you to see what is left inside.

It is not my handlebars that get most of the splash, it is my face! Oh, the thought of Gatorade on the face.

However, I love having my water right in front of me. I am more likely to remember to drink than having a bottle on bottom bars.

I used my Profile Aero bottle last week in my race. First, you can't fill it all the way up to the top. For a sprint, you really don't need the whole bottle anyway. I had no spills or splashing. The mesh top kept everything in place. I also didn't use the cradle they sell for the bottle. The rubber bands work just fine and don't add extra weight to the bike.

I loved the fact that the straw was just inches from my mouth. There were no bottles behind me or below me to reach for. Its very handy and worked perfectly.

I have one that says it is the official aero bottle of USAT, the mounting is cheesey, rubber bands, so it rattles on bumps and leaks if it is full, and I think I cracked the lid, I might get a new one, different brand
