I have come to the realization that I love lycra/spandex clothing. I know 99.9% of the rest of the world will look at me funny whenever I wear it, but I don't care. It feels good, and I like the way it looks.

Hooray for training and race gear.

End of line.

I wonder what that guy's been up to. It's been a while since I've heard from him.

Welcome to the world of triathlon, where men with perfectly normal testosterone levels shave their bodies and wear spandex with impunity.

BSM, by the way, is Black Spandex Man.  He is our own resident BT Superhero.  Often elusive, but always admired.

There's an added bonus in that my wife likes me in my new gear too.

I can't remember where I read it but we were discussing this a few days ago, especially the joy that you get when you walk into a grocery store or Walmart after a long, hard workout.

Nothing says 'I don't care what you think' like walking around Walmart, sweaty, salty, and enjoying the 'click-click-click' of your biking shoes on the floor.

phew, it's starting to get a little funky in here.  personally, I've never gone "fully" speandex anywhere more public than a gas stop or a Starbuck's EARLY on a weekend morning, pre-ride... even though I'm a chick.

I will confess, however, to having stopped by Whole Foods (perhaps for brown rice sushi, yum) on the way home from the park, sweat and all.  I just swap the tech top for an oversized T- or sweatshirt and hope that all the patchouli and wheat grass in there will mask my smell.
