I'll be there! This is my second tri and my first long course.

Way to go!! The bike won't be too terribly bad. I'm just glad the run will be nicer.

Congrats to everyone! I had a great time, but wondered about the crash by the s-turn. Anyone know anything about it?

I didn't see that one. Although some guy crashed right in front of me coming in on the last right turn into the transistion area. He hit the sand and wiped out. He recovered good since he flew into grass.

I saw it as I rode by... it looked pretty bad. I counted at least 4 people on the ground. Don't know anything else about who it was or if they ended up okay.

On a different note, did anyone stay for the prize awards. Just curious. I did not realize I won my age group short course until I got home and went online to check on results. Just wondering if I had missed anything interesting. As this was my second tri I picked up my toys and left. It was very enjoyable. Did not see any crashes. Must have missed the one you are talking about.

I stayed - congrats on winning your age group, that's awesome!!!

KLM does lots of giveaways at the awards ceremony. The door prizes range from helmets to plastic tire levers. I was so excited when I won a Rudy Project helmet on Sunday!! It matches my bike and everything, how did they know what color to give me??

Anyway I recommend staying for any awards ceremony. I came in 10/11 in my age group but still like to cheer for those who placed (and possibly get free stuff!).

When I went by the crash on the S-turn, everyone was standing except for one person who was on their back in the ditch. There were several police officers and volunteers there by then otherwise I would have stopped.

I believe I was the last one they let across the bridge before closing it down for the fire truck with the EMTs to get across. Not sure how serious the injuries might have been. Hope everyone was ok.
